Poetics of Performance

Course Description

In the poetics of vulnerability, powerlessness is the point at which aesthetic and ethical thinking must begin. We will begin with a brief examination of vulnerability as it is defined today culturally and move towards a personal exploration of what vulnerability feels like within an intentional and unfamiliar creative process – respecting how growth unfolds, and that vulnerability is an integral part of understanding precarity and a powerful tool for resistance and when bodily experience aligns with the world.
