Course Description
In recent years, Pakistani artists and in recent years, Pakistani artists and curators have made their mark in the international contemporary art world. This course charts major conceptual strategies in contemporary art scene within and outside Pakistan in recent years. Through presentations on the practices of significant artists, and on globalised exhibitions such as Biennales, Art fairs and the Documents, the seminar format of this class allows for discussions that help students to position their own work, in relation to their sociocultural context and various art practices.
