In celebration of the International Day for Rural Women and BNU-SVAD's VCD and TFA departments have been collaborating with Kaarvan Crafts Foundation who have helped our students from both departments to connect to and interact with women artisan entrepreneurs. Starting with a “oneness workshop” to interact with the participating Artisan Entrepreneurs who have been sharing stories and life journeys and their ideas, our 3rd year VCD students under the supervision of Aarish Sardar and Zain Naqvi have been developing digital campaigns, visualizations & videos to create awareness about the artisans.
The students of Textile, Fashion and Accessory Design Department and the Kaaravan Crafts foundation also came together for another collaborative venture - Uraan- Chapter 8 Online Exhibition. The collaboration was intended to create a platform to encourage artisans in times of Covid and offers exchange of knowledge between design students and home based artisans who have mastered their skill over the years.
The project was done under the guidance of Rohma Khan and Anam Khurram from BNU TFA. Students of Textile Major Studio 1 were involved in the project.
