CHILD’S CREATIVE IMAGINATION THROUGH A CARD GAME AS INFORMAL LEARNING TOOL

In urban Pakistan, generally speaking, there is little or no emphasis on nurturing children’s imagination, which results in lack of cognitive development in early childhood. Unfortunately, there are no new informal approaches that have been explored here, that would help develop children’s creative imagination. With lack of resources, there are little opportunities for children to express themselves, share and build imagination. Society at large is ignorant of the fact that children’s imagination processes are connected with how they feel, observe, visualize and contextualize the world around them.

This report is one such experimental study to examine and facilitate children through a physical card game. The outcome of this game would help caregivers develop customized teaching strategies suited for children. It would nurture children’s creative imagination through play, while helping them exercise their cognitive abilities and understand their personality traits within the social and cultural context.
